Performed diagnostic on a Carrier heat pump system and found filter door to filter housing to be off causing attic heat into seep into the air conditioner. Also, the incorrect filter was installed (system is calling for Aprilaire Model # 210 filter) and the lead wire coming from the zone control board damper to actual damper was not secure preventing electrical flow. I presented my findings to the customer. I then tested the upstairs damper with thermostat in the open and closed position and found it to be operational. While performing diagnostics on the condenser, I found voltage enhancement system failure which was interrupting cooling cycle. Presented customer with repair options and they have chosen to move forward with silver level voltage enhancement system renovations and securing of damper wiring. Performed repairs and system is now operational.
Resealed the connections from plenum to the package unit and sealed the plenum penetration into the barn with roofing tar for a watertight seal.
Performed diagnostic upstairs Goodman unit and found system not cooling due to failure at outdoor voltage enhancement system. Presented customer with options and have chosen to move forward with repairs. New voltage enhancement system has been installed, secured, and tested.

When I arrived, I found the mini split system to be slightly low on refrigerant. The customer showed me pictures of the unit iced up. I checked the flare connections as well as the coils and did not get any hits or bubbles at this time. I gave the customer his options and he chose to have refrigerant added and is going to keep an eye on it. Everything is working after completion of repairs.

I find the primary drain line to be completely clog and the secondary drain pan to be full of water and the safety float switches cutting off the outdoor unit. I clear the primary drain line and pump all the water out of the secondary pan down the primary drain line. I also treat the drain line. Everything is free flowing at this time. No charge per Ryan. I did inform the customer that if it backs up again that we will need to re-pipe the drain line out of the house in a different location.
Install new supply plenum to upstairs slab coil. Install dampers for air control and seal buckets and takeoffs with air lock. Measure upstairs CFM and adjust for maximum comfort upstairs.
Checked the electrical, thermostat, and cleared the drain line. The system is working properly at this time.
