HVAC Service FAQs

Should I repair or replace my air conditioning and heating system?

A few reasons you should replace your air conditioning and heating system rather than repair it in Buda, TX are:

  • Your HVAC system is over 10 years old and breaks down often.
  • Your energy bills have increased.
  • The cost to repair your HVAC system outweighs the cost to replace it.

When your HVAC system becomes ineffective, it will cost you more on energy each month and require multiple repairs. However, if your HVAC system is fairly new, regularly maintained and hasn't required many repairs in the past, you should have it repaired rather than replaced.

How much should HVAC service cost near Buda TX?

An HVAC service should cost around $150-350 in Buda, TX. Having your HVAC serviced is a great way to spot issues before they become more severe. Additionally, regular servicing keeps your HVAC system running more efficiently and extends its service life. The benefits that HVAC maintenance provides greatly outweigh the cost since you save more on energy bills and repair costs.

What is included in a HVAC tune up near Buda TX?

An HVAC tune-up in Buda, TX typically includes:

  • A cleaning of your furnace and AC unit.
  • An inspection and lubrication of your furnace and AC unit’s parts.
  • Minor repairs.

To get the most out of tuning up your HVAC system, you should have your HVAC system tuned up once before summer and once before winter. Getting your HVAC system tuned up before peak seasons allows your HVAC to run more efficiently and require less repairs.

Performed diagnostic on the upstairs system. I found the outdoor contactor had ants in it and had shorted out. This was preventing the outdoor system from turning on. Also found the outdoor fan motor has a hot spot ( rust spot). At the indoor system I found the secondary drain pan (62x32) is extremely rusted. Did inform the homeowner if the pan rusts through and water gets in it the pan will leak and cause water damage in the home. Also found the indoor coil rusted and prone to a refrigerant leak. Spoke with the homeowner and he chose to have the contactor replaced at this time. I replaced the outdoor contactor, cleaned out the electrical cabinet, and sprayed insecticide JS 685 to help keep ants out. Function tested the system and everything is operational at completion of service.

Our 22 year old system finally gave up the ghost so we contacted Garner for an estimate. Max, the Project Manager pitched up same day to assess everything and gave us an estimate with financial options. Max was very professional, courteous and helpful guiding us through in language we understand and never pressured us. Having decided on which model we wanted, the job was conveniently scheduled. At 6:10am on the day, Ethan and his 4-man crew pitched up and set to work. They were all very professional, respectful and got on with their work efficiently. Ethan was on top of the job from the get-go ensuring everything was being done to spec. By mid-day our old system was out and the new one was installed and being tested. Ethan then took the time to walk me through what had been done and then showed me how to operate the new thermostat - patiently answering all my questions. We are extremely happy with our new system and would not hesitate to recommend Garner to anyone looking for competent professional service and support.
