On arrival, the homeowner showed me the email she got from her HVAC system showing “outdoor communication fault code 179”. She also informed me there was a power outage the day before she received this email. I turned the system on and verified everything is operational. I believe the fault code on the system was due to the power outage the system had. I did find the drain line has some build up in it. I presented repair options to the homeowner and she chose to sign up on our gold maintenance plan. I then performed an A/C tune-up on the carrier infinity heat pump. I spoke with homeowner and she chose to have the motor replaced. I replaced the blower motor and cycled power at the thermostat. I did find the suction saturation temperature is at a constant 37-38 degrees. I tried different speeds tabs to try increasing the temperature but nothing changed. I also cleared and treated the drain line and no extra charge. There is a lot of rust around the blower housing and on the blower assembly. All UV lights and surge protection devices are working. System is operational at this time.
Patio Room Mini Split: On arrival I turned the mini split head unit to TURBO mode and checked operation. I noticed there was hardly any air coming from the supply discharge of the head unit. I began the diagnostic by taking an amp draw of the motor and found there to be 0.0amps. I was also able to audibly hear the motor running. We will need to replace the indoor blower motor to return system back to operation. I also recommended an ICM493 Voltage Monitor to prevent voltage spikes. The homeowner agreed to repairs.
